As a teaching artist, it is always great to see children enthusiastic about creating artwork or participating in a dance - especially those who started out very shy or got easily embarrassed. By encouraging self -expression, children blossom into confident, creative and willing participants.  It is truly rewarding to see this transformation in time (thank goodness), for the end –of- 6 weeks show/culminating event.  My shows have required constructing props, learning songs, and rehearsing lines.  Along with costumes and music, the show becomes a magical, imaginative journey.  I’m always amazed at how well my students perform on stage and then the excitement just starts all over again!

Ms. Gipson holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Texas @ Arlington.  Her minor is in Music.  Her shows, called Mama Ka Rhythm Stories,  can be seen at various festivals and cultural centers in the area.
